Wild enemy1 in 4096Also applies to bosses
Gacha pull1 in 100 (1%)Any rarity can be shiny

Over 4,096 eligible enemies the chance of seeing at least one shiny is about 63%. The same is true of 100 gacha pulls, which also give about a 63% chance of at least one.

Wild shinies

  • Each eligible enemy rolls a 1 in 4096 chance to be shiny.
  • A shiny enemy sparkles, has double health, gives five times the experience and does not disappear when you walk away. An arrow at the edge of the screen points to it.
  • Defeat it and it is yours: you unlock its shiny form, and the normal form too if you did not have it. If you already owned that shiny you get 300 coins instead.

Gacha shinies

Every pull has a 1% chance to be shiny, whatever the rarity. Since October 12 shinies no longer come out as duplicates: if you roll one you already own, you get another shiny of the same rarity that you are missing.

Each region from Kanto to Paldea is its own banner with its own pity counter. Rarity chances per pull:

RarityChance per pullCoins for a duplicate
Common45%15
Uncommon30%30
Rare17%60
Epic6.5%120
Legendary1.5%300
  • Pity: after 70 pulls without a Legendary in a banner, the next pull is a Legendary.
  • A x10 pull costs 10 normal tickets or one x10 ticket and guarantees at least one Epic.
  • If a rarity has no Pokémon in a banner, the nearest rarity comes out instead.

Using your shiny

Open the Pokémon screen and pick the Normal or Shiny version of any partner you own. You can also switch from the main menu, right under your partner. 958 of the 966 Pokémon have a real shiny sprite.

Tips

  • The gacha is the reliable route: 1 in 100 per pull against 1 in 4096 per enemy.
  • Longer runs mean more enemies and so more rolls.
  • Watch the screen edge for the arrow, because a shiny does not despawn but you still have to reach it.
